At Loyola, Stephanie was named the recipient of the Pattie Doll award for the most outstanding undergraduate psychology student and served as the President of the University Programming Board, which organized and managed many on campus programming activities. Stephanie also was a member of the Alpha Chi Omega Sorority.

Following her graduation from Loyola University, Stephanie started as a sales and leasing associate at SRSA Commercial Real Estate. Throughout her nine-year career in real estate, Stephanie has represented a variety of national, regional and local tenants in office and retail including Charles Schwab, Verizon, Mattress Firm, Chuck E Cheese, Burger King and Tuesday Morning. Stephanie represents retail and office landlords for property totaling several hundred thousand square feet across metropolitan New Orleans.

After receiving endorsements from The Times Picayune and Gambit Weekly, in 2015, Stephanie defeated a nine-year incumbent to serve as the Louisiana state representative for District 94, which covers the lakefront of Metairie and New Orleans, including the Lakeview and Mid City New Orleans neighborhoods. Stephanie is the first millennial to serve the New Orleans area in the state legislature. During her first session, she served on the Ways & Means, Education, and Municipal committees. On the Ways & Means committee, Stephanie has been involved in the business and personal tax legislation during the 2016 first and second special sessions. In her freshman year, three of Stephanie’s bills cleared the House and Senate and were signed by the Governor to become law.

Stephanie and her husband Mike Lillis, along with their eight-month-old daughter Claire Marie are proud residents of Lake Vista New Orleans and can frequently be seen strolling through the Lake Vista parkways and along Lake Pontchartrain. Claire Marie holds the distinction of being the first child born to a sitting legislator during session. Not wanting to miss session, Stephanie returned to the house floor two weeks after giving birth to Claire Marie.
